Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine- the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration, whereby those important events of the past usually associated with someone’s death or the end of some awful bloody struggle are celebrated with a nice holiday. I thought we could mark this November the 5th, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat.
I’ve had a very busy in terms of schoolwork. I had set myself a few goals this week and it has proven to be rather difficult, if I’m completely honest. I had to read two books: William Marshall by Crouch and The Pursuit of history by Tosh. Both are not really thick books, but they are really difficult to get through. That is the main reason I haven’t posted many blogs this past week.
As it is Sunday I like to reflect on my life a little bit and perhaps on people’s live in general. I have the feeling that people are too busy with other people’s live or are in a hurry all the time, that they don’t take time to properly talk or discuss anything. They don’t concern themselves with the news in a manner that they have been: The news must be true and that’s it, no one seems to question the media and have a talk about it anymore.
The quote above is taken from V for Vendetta (the movie) and especially the last sentence is exactly what I’m feeling. We have to take some time of our daily lives and just sit down with a nice cup of tea and just talk to each other. Getting to know each other, instead of being frightened by language, appearance, religion or political believe. I think that’s very important.
I think the holiday season is an excellent opportunity to just talk to family and friends. To see what’s keeping them busy in life and how they are really doing. Be nice to people, give the people a positive vibe!
Have a nice Sunday guys! – ML
