Well yesterday I started my post about VVV-Venlo and I want to continue it now. As I said, we really have a big financial problem and it’s now a threatening situation. The club asked the city council for help, but they refused to pay up the 500.000 EUR we needed for the rest of the season. They referred to a committee that was installed to research the possibility of funding the club. Wether it is legal or no.
Well that left everyone frustrated, mainly because the committee had been meeting over 6 months now and nothing did come up to this point. Last wednesday the report came out and the outcome wasn’t positive: They advised the city council to NOT step into the club and don’t give them a loan or anything. Well that left everyone furious at the club because of a couple of reason:
- The report wasn’t delivered to VVV-Venlo
- VVV-Venlo wasn’t notified about the press conference following the report
- There were false conclusions in the report
- The money was needed for the stadium renovation, without it our license to play professional football will be withdrawn.
At this point the club and the city council are not on real speaking terms and the lifeline is slowly fading. I think it’s time to step up as supporters and I’m thinking of starting a supporters trust, like swansea city have founded 10 years ago.
The city council has requested the club and her supporters to come over and have a talk about the situation. I’m very curious what they have to say, but I won’t wait that long. It’s time for action! Look for my actions on this blog and my apologies for the lack of content on my blog lately. But as you most likely will understand, one my family members is under heavy threat: VVV-Venlo…
